The role of digitization processes: four strategic scenarios
As energy efficiency schemes come to a deeper stage of deployment the need to go further and obtaining more precise information generation and management arises.
Either in the form of functional, matrix structures, or project-based organizational scenarios, the need to remodel the current organizational and hopefully operational structures to seek for a systems and systemic profile comes to the forefront.
For that purpose we do suggest to explore at three different levels the potential transitions:
- DIGITIZATION STRATEGIES:
I.- Extension of current information infrastructure:
- a) Field distributed information
- b) Operations information
- c) Service information
- d) Internet data and connected devices
II.- Intensive digitization: large and extensive deployment
III.- Selective digitization: seeking specific emerging systems
IV.- Systems creation from informational modelling: growing from things
